40 Over 40 - The Campaign
A celebration of women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond
When I thought about what I wanted to do for my 40th birthday, I immediately knew it would be a portrait project to celebrate women. I felt and also heard from those wiser than me, that 40 is when people may begin to take you more seriously, when life gets real, and when, as women, we begin to become ourselves in a way that allows us to care less and less about other people’s opinions. We begin to walk in our own truth.
The idea evolved over time into the campaign I’m sharing with you now - forty photoshoots to celebrate what it means to be a woman in her forties and beyond. I’m learning that as we all mature, we learn how amazing it is to gain the freedom, beauty, and passion that comes with this age and I would like to document it through beautiful portraits. Let’s Get Your 40 Over 40 Shoot Booked!
If you want to join the group of women who are empowering themselves and others, schedule a quick consultation with me! I am dedicating only two session dates per month to this campaign and limiting the number of sessions to 40 incredible women over the age of 40. Over the last year, I’ve completed part one of the project and look forward to seeing who the next 20 ladies are who would like to give themselves the experience of a photo shoot.

The Planning Consultation:
Once your shoot is booked, I’ll design your shoot based on your interests and unique style, then guide you on how to prepare for the shoot to ensure you’re comfortable and confident when you step in front of my camera.
The Makeover:
This transformation is always amazing to watch! Not the difference in how a woman looks after the makeup application, but in the way she feels. That confidence comes across in her shoot every single time. This part of the experience allows you to relax and get comfortable before you begin shooting. My makeup artist will create the look you’re going for - anything from natural to full drama and glamorous.
The Photoshoot:
During your shoot, we’ll spend about 30 minutes per outfit in various flattering poses and movements to capture the most beautiful images you’ve seen of yourself. No need to know what to do - that’s what I’m there for! I’ll guide you through each pose to get the perfect shots.
One (7”x10”) Complementary Matted Print:
A few weeks after your shoot, you’ll come back for your reveal appointment to view a video and the absolute best images from your shoot. Then we’ll review them and you get to select your complimentary image for participating in this incredible campaign. You also have the opportunity to purchase more images if you like, but what you buy is entirely up to you - some participants select a few favorites and others leave with an album, folio box, and wall art for the homes.
The Gallery Exhibit Party
To celebrate all of the wisdom, confidence, and beauty of the women who participate in the campaign, I hosted a gallery exhibition in January 2023. Participants received an invite for themselves and a guest to view their images, meet other women who were photographed, and connect with one another.
As I continue the project, a second exhibit will be planned for 2023 to celebrate the next 20 women participants.
